The film was made on the basis of unique interviews with the title heroine, recorded in the last days of her life. In the film, Irena Sendlerowa talks about her activity, which was to save the lives of the poorest Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. Giving new identities, falsifying documents, ways of leading children out of the ghetto walls and placing them in the homes of Poles, the film is illustrated with the help of film archives from Poland, the United States and Russia, enriched with story sequences.
